What is the Audi Q3?

The Audi Q3 is a compact SUV with a raised driving position and a practical cabin for everyday use. It joined Audi’s SUV range in 2011, bringing the format to a smaller size. The Q3 Sportback adds a lower, coupe-like roofline while keeping the SUV shape.

Generations and engines

The first generation, 8U, ran from 2011 to 2018. The F3 generation followed from 2018 to 2025, and the third generation, FJ, began in 2025. In the EU, the engine range spans 1.4 to 2.5 litres, with power from 88 kW (120 PS) to 294 kW (400 PS). Listed fuel types include petrol, diesel and hybrid options, including plug-in hybrids. UK figures cover 1.4 to 2.0-litre engines and 103 kW (140 PS) to 180 kW (245 PS). US and Canadian listings specify 2.0-litre petrol engines.

How economical is the Audi Q3?

For petrol, diesel and hybrid versions, the lowest listed EU consumption is 5 L/100 km on WLTP. The EU plug-in hybrid low is 1.5 L/100 km, an official weighted figure that assumes part of the driving is electric. The lowest UK figure is 4.5 L/100 km under NEDC, and France lists 4.4 L/100 km under NEDC. The EPA figure is 9 L/100 km, or 26 MPG combined; Canada’s five-cycle figure is 9.2 L/100 km. These results use different procedures: WLTP or NEDC in Europe, EPA in the USA and the five-cycle test in Canada. They are not direct comparisons.

Where was the Audi Q3 sold?

In official EU registration figures, the Q3 appears from 2011 to 2025, with 1,813,382 registrations. UK and French figures span 2012 to 2026. US and Canadian figures begin in 2015. The Q3 has been offered with petrol and diesel engines, as well as electrified options in some markets.
