What is the Audi A7?

The Audi A7 is a large four-door Sportback, with a coupé-like roofline and a practical rear hatch. It brings a more flowing shape to Audi’s large-car range, while keeping the everyday usefulness of a liftback.

Audi A7 generations

The first generation, C7 (2010–2018, 4G), brought the A7 Sportback’s long, low silhouette, four doors and liftback rear to the range. The second generation, C8 (2018–present, 4K), updated the design and cabin technology. Across both generations, the A7 combined a sleek profile with the practicality of a rear hatch.

Engines, power and official economy

EU figures cover engines from 2.0 to 4.0 litres and power from 140 kW (190 PS) to 445 kW (605 PS). Petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions appear across the listed markets. Among the most registered EU configurations were 3.0-litre diesel versions rated at 180 kW (245 PS), 230 kW (313 PS) and 210 kW (286 PS).

For petrol, diesel and hybrid versions, the lowest listed consumption is 5 L/100 km in the EU on WLTP, 4.5 L/100 km in the UK on NEDC, and 4.7 L/100 km in France on NEDC. The EU plug-in hybrid weighted figure is 1.4 L/100 km and assumes some driving is electric. In the US, the lowest listed figure for other versions is 7.8 L/100 km, with a best combined rating of 30 MPG; the plug-in hybrid weighted figure is 8.1 L/100 km. Canada lists 7.8 L/100 km for other versions and 8.1 L/100 km for plug-in hybrids on NRCan’s 5-cycle procedure. WLTP and NEDC in Europe, EPA in the US, and Canada’s 5-cycle procedure use different tests.

Where was the Audi A7 sold?

Official figures cover the EU, UK, France, the United States and Canada. EU registrations span 2010–2025 and total 200,741 cars. UK and North American figures run through 2026, while French figures cover 2012–2015.
