What is the Porsche 718 Cayman?

The 718 Cayman is a two-seat sports coupé with a fixed roof and an engine behind the cabin. It is the coupé partner to the open-top 718 Boxster in Porsche’s range. Its mid-engine layout is a distinctive part of the car’s character.

Porsche added the 718 name in 2016. It recalls the marque’s mid-engine 718 racing cars and connects the road car with Porsche’s competition history.

718 Cayman generation

The 982 generation ran from 2016 to 2025. The 718 Cayman launched with turbocharged flat-four engines and retained its mid-engine layout. Higher-performance versions later added larger engines.
