What is the NIO ET5?

The ET5 is a mid-size electric saloon in NIO’s range, below the flagship ET7. Its four-door layout and connected cabin suit everyday commuting and family journeys. NIO launched the model as part of its move into a broader range of smart electric cars.

The first-generation ET5 uses NIO’s NT2.0 platform and is listed from 2022 to today. NIO announced the model alongside the ET7 for its European expansion beyond Norway.

Engines and power

All ET5 versions in the European registration figures are electric. Listed power ranges from 150 kW (204 PS) to 360 kW (489 PS). The ET5 brings NIO’s connected-car approach to its mid-size saloon, while the ET7 sits at the top of the sedan range.

How economical is the NIO ET5?

Official EEA registration figures cover 2023–2025 and record 1,005 ET5s across eight versions. They do not give an electricity-consumption or CO₂ test result. As an electric car, the ET5 has no petrol or diesel consumption figure.

Efficiency figures vary by market because test procedures differ. Europe uses WLTP, or NEDC for some earlier vehicles; the USA uses EPA testing and Canada uses a five-cycle procedure.
