What is the Morgan Midsummer?

The Midsummer is an open-top, two-seat barchetta sports car developed with Italian design house Pininfarina. Its design reinterprets Morgan’s long-bonnet shape, with hand-formed bodywork that reflects the company’s coachbuilding tradition.

Morgan has been making cars in Malvern since 1909. The Midsummer brings that hand-built approach to the CX-Generation bonded aluminium platform used by the company’s modern sports cars.

Generation and engines

The Midsummer generation is listed as CX-Generation since 2024. Morgan and Pininfarina presented the car in 2024, and the first customer commissions were completed in 2025. The Midsummer has been in production since 2024.

The UK range lists a 3.0-litre petrol engine, with outputs from 250 kW (340 PS) to 300 kW (408 PS). The EU range lists a 3.0-litre petrol version producing 250 kW (340 PS).

Fuel consumption and registrations

The lowest UK VCA fuel-consumption figure is 7.7 L/100 km on the WLTP test. EU registration figures cover 2025 and record 16 cars. UK VCA figures cover 2025–2026.

Test procedures differ across markets: Europe uses WLTP or older NEDC procedures, the USA uses EPA testing, and Canada uses its 5-cycle procedure.
