What is the Maserati GranCabrio?

The GranCabrio is the open-top companion to the GranTurismo coupé. Its folding roof brings the same grand touring idea to a convertible, for journeys enjoyed with the sky above. The first generation, M145, ran from 2010 to 2019; the second, M189, began in 2024.

The newer GranCabrio is available as a petrol model and as the fully electric Folgore. Together, they bring Maserati’s touring tradition into a new generation of open-top cars.

Generations, engines and power

The first-generation GranCabrio used a 4.7-litre petrol engine in the UK. EU versions span 3.0 to 4.7 litres, with power from 323 kW (439 PS) to 404 kW (549 PS).

The second-generation range includes the fully electric Folgore and a petrol V6 Nettuno. The change from the first generation’s V8 to the newer powertrains gives the open-top touring car a different character under the bonnet.

How economical is the Maserati GranCabrio?

The lowest listed EU consumption is 10.4 L/100 km on WLTP. France’s and the UK’s lowest listed figures are both 14.5 L/100 km on NEDC. WLTP and NEDC are different European test procedures, so their results are not directly comparable.

In the United States, the EPA’s lowest listed figure is 11.8 L/100 km, with a best combined rating of 20 MPG. Canada’s lowest listed figure is 11.6 L/100 km on the 5-cycle test. EPA and Canada’s 5-cycle procedure differ from the European tests.

Where was the GranCabrio sold?

EU registration figures cover 2010–2025 and record 4,943 GranCabrios. UK figures begin in 2010, France’s listed period is 2012–2015, and the US and Canadian figures cover newer versions.
