What is the Kia Venga?

The Kia Venga is a compact five-door people carrier with a tall cabin and an upright seating position. Its layout suits drivers who value easy access and useful passenger space in a car that remains compact. Kia’s first and only generation, known by the code YN, ran from 2010 to 2019.

The Venga’s shape puts cabin space ahead of a low, sporty profile. A later refresh gave it a larger “tiger nose” grille and revised front styling.

Engines and power

Across EU registrations, the Venga had engines from 1.4 to 1.6 litres, with petrol, diesel, LPG and other fuel entries. Power ranged from 55 kW (75 PS) to 99 kW (135 PS). UK versions had 1.4- to 1.6-litre engines producing 66 kW (90 PS) to 92 kW (125 PS). Listed French versions produced 66 kW (90 PS) to 92 kW (124 PS).

The most registered EU specification was a 1.4-litre petrol with 66 kW (90 PS) in 2011. Other leading registrations included 1.4-litre petrol versions in 2010 and 2013.

Fuel consumption and markets

The lowest listed consumption in both the UK and France is 4.4 L/100 km on the NEDC test procedure. NEDC is an older European test; its results are not directly comparable with figures measured under newer procedures.

Official EU registration figures run from 2010 to 2020 and total 522,007 registrations across 89 versions. UK VCA figures cover 2010 to 2018, and France ADEME figures cover 2012 to 2015.
