What is the Bentley Continental GT?

The Continental GT is Bentley’s two-door grand touring coupé, built for long journeys with a richly trimmed cabin and a focus on performance. It is the marque’s coupé, alongside its saloon and SUV models. The wider Continental family also includes a convertible.

Bentley introduced the Continental GT as its first all-new model of the Volkswagen Group era. Its twin-turbo W12 and all-wheel drive helped establish the modern car’s grand touring character.

Continental GT generations

The first generation ran from 2004 to 2011 and established the model’s grand touring formula. The second generation, from 2011 to 2018, brought revised styling and added a V8 alongside the W12. The third generation ran from 2019 to 2024, followed by the fourth generation from 2025. The latest generation continues the Continental GT’s role and includes a plug-in hybrid.

Engines, power and official consumption

In European Union figures, engines range from 4.0 to 6.0 litres and power from 373 kW (507 PS) to 522 kW (710 PS). UK figures extend to 550 kW (748 PS). The range includes petrol and E85 flex-fuel versions, as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid entries in some markets.

The lowest listed non-plug-in figure in the EU is 10.4 L/100 km on WLTP. The lowest plug-in hybrid figure is 1.3 L/100 km on WLTP; this weighted result assumes some driving is electric. For comparison, the lowest listed non-plug-in figures are 12.4 L/100 km in the US under EPA testing and 12.2 L/100 km in Canada under the 5-cycle procedure. WLTP, EPA and Canada’s 5-cycle tests use different procedures.

Where was the Continental GT sold?

Official figures are available for the EU, UK, France, US and Canada. EU registration figures record 35,433 cars from 2010 to 2025. UK figures span 2007 to 2026, while US and Canadian figures also cover multiple generations. France’s figures span 2012 to 2015.
