What is the Bentley Flying Spur?
The Flying Spur is Bentley’s four-door luxury grand touring saloon. It brings the marque’s performance and handcrafted cabin to a body with room for passengers to travel in comfort. Its modern history began as the four-door Continental Flying Spur, a saloon sibling to the Continental coupé.
Bentley later dropped “Continental” from the name, marking the Flying Spur as a model in its own right. It remains the brand’s four-door grand tourer, with a focus on both the driver and rear-seat passengers.
Flying Spur generations
The first generation, from 2006 to 2013, was the modern Continental Flying Spur. The second generation ran from 2014 to 2019, when the model was established as the Flying Spur in its own right. The third generation began in 2020 and continues today. Plug-in hybrid versions joined the range.
Engines, power and official consumption
EU figures cover engines from 2.9 to 6.0 litres, with power from 306 kW (416 PS) to 467 kW (635 PS). UK figures extend to 550 kW (748 PS). Petrol versions are represented across the markets, while plug-in hybrid versions appear in EU, UK, US and Canadian figures. US figures also include E85 flex-fuel.
The lowest listed non-plug-in figure in the EU is 12.6 L/100 km on WLTP. The lowest plug-in hybrid result is 2.2 L/100 km on WLTP; this weighted figure assumes some driving is electric. The lowest listed non-plug-in figures are 13.8 L/100 km in the US under EPA testing and 13.6 L/100 km in Canada under the 5-cycle procedure. WLTP, EPA and Canada’s 5-cycle tests use different procedures.
Where was the Flying Spur sold?
