What is the Bentley Continental T?

The Continental T is a two-door grand touring coupé and a sportier version of Bentley’s Continental R. Bentley launched it in 1996 with a shorter wheelbase, wider wheel arches and a more focused character. Its cabin is snugger than the Continental R’s, while the broad arches give the car a purposeful stance.

The Continental T is a single model line, rather than a name used for multiple generations. It carried Bentley’s tradition of luxurious grand tourers into the early 2000s.

Engines and power

The Continental T has a 6.7-litre petrol V8 with a turbocharger. Its shorter wheelbase and sportier setup distinguish it from the Continental R. Inside, an engine-turned aluminium dashboard replaces the traditional wood veneer, and a separate button starts the engine.

How economical is the Bentley Continental T?

In Canada, NRCan lists the Continental T from 1999 to 2003, across three versions. The lowest listed consumption is 19.8 L/100 km on the NRCAN-5CYCLE test. Test procedures differ by market: Europe uses WLTP or NEDC, while the USA uses EPA ratings, so the figures are not directly comparable.

Where was the Continental T sold?

Bentley is a British marque, and its cars are built at Crewe, England. The Continental T was part of the company’s grand touring range. Later, the Continental GT brought the Continental name to a new generation of coupés.
