Who makes MINI?

MINI is a British marque within the BMW Group. Its story began with a small, practical car, and the modern range carries that compact spirit into several body styles. Round headlights, short overhangs and wheels set close to the corners give the cars a familiar look. Inside, MINI gives everyday controls a distinctive design.

The range spans small cars, convertibles and crossovers, as well as sportier two-seat models. The Hatch remains the clearest expression of MINI’s compact-car roots, while the other models adapt that idea to different shapes and uses.

Which MINI models are covered?

The model list spans 2001–2027 and includes eight lines: Hatch, Convertible, Countryman, Clubman, Coupe, Roadster, Paceman and Aceman. The Hatch runs from 2001–2027, the Convertible from 2004–2027 and Countryman from 2010–2027. Clubman spans 2008–2024. Coupe and Roadster ran from 2011–2016 and 2012–2016 respectively; Paceman from 2013–2018; and Aceman from 2024–2026.

The Hatch is MINI’s small car, while the Countryman has a taller crossover shape. The Convertible brings open-air motoring to the compact format. Clubman has an estate-like body, while Coupe and Roadster explored sportier two-seat designs. Paceman combined a crossover stance with a coupé profile, and Aceman adds another compact crossover to the range.

How has MINI’s range developed?

The modern MINI began with the Hatch and grew to include other body styles. The Convertible followed, then the roomier Countryman and Clubman. Coupe, Roadster and Paceman expanded the range with more specialised shapes, while Aceman added another crossover.

In official EU registration figures, the Hatch leads by a wide margin, with 3,367,884 registrations in 2010–2025. Countryman follows with 683,488 in 2010–2025, then Clubman with 316,374 in 2010–2024. Convertible recorded 77,417 in 2010–2025, Roadster 21,773 in 2012–2016, Aceman 21,636 in 2024–2025, Paceman 11,094 in 2013–2017 and Coupe 9,352 in 2011–2016. The Hatch remains at the heart of MINI’s range even as the marque has added different body styles.

Where are MINI cars listed, and what about electrification?

The figures cover the European Union, the United Kingdom, France, the United States and Canada. Official fuel-use and emissions results can differ between markets because test procedures differ: Europe uses WLTP or, for some older cars, NEDC; the USA uses EPA procedures, while Canada uses the 5-cycle method.

Electrification is part of MINI’s newer line-up. The Aceman is an electric compact crossover, and the modern Hatch has also been offered in electric form. The Aceman’s listed years begin in 2024, while the Hatch spans 2001–2027, tracing the marque’s evolution from its small-car roots to a broader range.
