What is the Lamborghini Murciélago?

The Murciélago is a mid-engined V12 supercar and part of Lamborghini’s long-running V12 tradition. It was unveiled in 2001 as the first Lamborghini of the new millennium. Its name means “bat” in Spanish and is tied to a bull from the history of the Miura breeding line.

With its low, dramatic shape and V12 engine, the Murciélago carried Lamborghini’s supercar character into a new era. Later versions developed the V12 further, including the LP 640-4 and LP 670-4 SV.
