What is the Lamborghini Aventador?

The Aventador is a mid-engined V12 supercar that served as Lamborghini’s flagship. It succeeded the Murciélago in 2011, carrying forward the marque’s V12 tradition with a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis.

Lamborghini positioned the Aventador above its V10 models. Its V12 and carbon-fibre structure made it a distinctive part of the brand’s flagship line.

Generation and engines

The Aventador had one generation, spanning 2011–2022. Its defining engine was a 6.5 L petrol V12, with EU figures showing power from 515 kW (700 PS) to 574 kW (780 PS). The range developed through multiple versions while retaining the V12.

The carbon-fibre monocoque was a notable structural feature of the Aventador. Across its generation, Lamborghini continued to evolve the car while keeping the V12 at its centre.

How economical is the Lamborghini Aventador?

Official consumption figures vary across markets and test procedures. The lowest EU figure is 18 L/100 km on WLTP. France and the UK list 16 L/100 km on NEDC. In the USA, the EPA figure is 18.1 L/100 km, or 13 MPG combined; Canada’s NRCan 5-cycle figure is 17.9 L/100 km.

Europe’s WLTP and NEDC procedures differ from EPA testing in the USA and the 5-cycle procedure in Canada. Results are best read within their own market’s test system.

Where was the Aventador sold?

Official figures are listed for the European Union, the UK, France, the USA and Canada. EU registrations span 2011–2022, matching the generation years. France’s listed period runs from 2012 to 2026.
