What is the Kia ProCeed?
The ProCeed name has covered two kinds of compact Kia. It began as the three-door pro_cee’d, part of the cee’d family. For its third generation, Kia reshaped it as a five-door shooting brake, an estate-style body with a low, sloping roof. The model was designed, developed and engineered in Europe.
The ProCeed sat at the more distinctive end of Kia’s European cee’d range, while retaining the everyday role of a compact car.
ProCeed generations
The first generation (ED) ran from 2008 to 2012. The second (JD) followed from 2013 to 2018, continuing the three-door coupé approach. The third generation (CD), from 2019 to 2024, changed to a five-door shooting brake body. The new layout added rear doors while keeping the long, sloping roofline.
Engines and power
EU versions include petrol, hybrid and diesel engines from 1.0 L to 1.6 L, with power from 66 kW (90 PS) to 150 kW (204 PS). The UK range also spans 1.0 L to 1.6 L, with petrol and diesel power from 66 kW (90 PS) to 160 kW (218 PS). French figures cover petrol versions from 1.5 L to 1.6 L, rated at 118 kW (160 PS) or 150 kW (204 PS).
Fuel consumption and registrations
The lowest EU figure is 4.7 L/100 km on WLTP; the lowest UK figure is 3.8 L/100 km on NEDC. The French figure is 5.5 L/100 km on WLTP. The procedures differ: WLTP is the newer European test, while NEDC is an older one, so the results are not directly comparable.
EU registrations total 158,035 from 2010 to 2025. UK figures span 2008 to 2024, and French figures cover 2026. In EU registrations, the 1.6 L petrol rated at 150 kW (204 PS) was a leading configuration in several periods.
