What is the Tiguan Allspace?
The Tiguan Allspace is the longer version of Volkswagen’s Tiguan SUV. Introduced in 2017, it adds room for passengers and luggage while keeping the familiar Tiguan shape. It was offered with five seats or an optional third row for up to seven, giving families the choice of extra seating or more space for bags.
Volkswagen updated the Allspace in 2021 with revised styling, a digital cockpit and new control and assistance systems. The optional third row remained a key part of its appeal, while the updated cabin brought newer infotainment and connectivity features.
Generations, engines and power
The Tiguan Allspace belongs to Tiguan Generation II (2017–2024), identified by the codes AD and BW. As the long-wheelbase version, it offered a roomier alternative within the Tiguan range and could be ordered with a third row.
In the European Union, petrol and diesel engines ranged from 1.4 L to 2.0 L between 2017 and 2021. The listed EU power figure is 137 kW (186 PS). UK VCA figures cover 2018, with petrol and diesel engines from 1.4 L to 2.0 L and power from 110 kW (150 PS) to 177 kW (240 PS).
How economical is the Tiguan Allspace?
The lowest listed UK consumption is 5 L/100 km on the NEDC test. European Union registration figures total 20,276 from 2017 to 2021. The leading entries were 2.0 L diesel versions registered in 2019, 2020 and 2018. NEDC is an older European test procedure, so its results are not directly comparable with newer WLTP figures.
