What is the Renault Austral?

The Austral is a family SUV in Renault’s passenger-car range, with a higher-riding shape and hybrid power among its available choices. Renault unveiled it in 2022 as the first model to use the Alliance’s next-generation CMF-CD platform. Its cabin brings a digital focus to the family-SUV format.

The first generation, code HHN, began in 2022. In EU registration figures, the Austral appears with hybrid, petrol, plug-in hybrid and other fuel classifications; UK and French listings show hybrid versions.

Engines and power
