What is the MG EHS?

The MG EHS is a family SUV with a raised seating position and a spacious cabin. In Europe, the model has been offered with plug-in hybrid power, combining electric driving with a petrol engine for longer journeys. MG has British roots and is now part of China’s SAIC Motor group.

The first EHS generation arrived in 2021. A new generation followed in 2024, with refreshed styling, more cabin space and updated infotainment. The EHS has been one of MG’s plug-in hybrid SUVs in Europe.

Generations and power

The first generation ran from 2021 to 2023, followed by a second generation from 2024. The EU figures list a 1.5-litre engine and power of 119 kW (162 PS). The model has appeared with plug-in hybrid, hybrid and petrol fuel labels.

How economical is the MG EHS?

The lowest official EU plug-in hybrid consumption figure is 1.8 L/100 km on the WLTP test. This weighted result assumes that part of the driving is electric; actual fuel use depends on charging and how the car is driven. Official EU registration figures span 2021–2025, with 40,293 registrations across 10 versions.

Test procedures differ between markets: Europe uses WLTP, the USA uses EPA tests, and Canada uses the 5-cycle procedure.
