What is the Nissan NV200?
The NV200 is a compact van for carrying goods or passengers. Its small footprint and useful interior space made it suited to city work, passenger transport and taxi service. In Nissan’s commercial range, it brought van practicality to the compact end of the line-up.
The first and only generation, known as M20, ran from 2009 to 2021. Nissan also offered the battery-electric e-NV200, based on the same multipurpose van.
Engines and power
Engine choice varied by market. In EU registration figures from 2010 to 2019, engines ranged from 1.5 to 1.6 litres and power from 63 kW (86 PS) to 122 kW (166 PS). The listed fuels include diesel, petrol, natural gas and other. A 1.5-litre diesel producing 81 kW (110 PS) led the EU registration figures in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
UK listings cover 1.5-litre diesel versions producing 63 kW (86 PS) to 81 kW (110 PS). US and Canadian listings cover 2.0-litre petrol versions.
Fuel consumption
The lowest listed UK and French figures are 4.9 L/100 km on the NEDC test. The US EPA listing gives 9.4 L/100 km and 25 MPG combined; Canada’s lowest listed figure is 9.3 L/100 km on the 5-cycle test. These results use different procedures and are best understood within their respective markets.
For context, Europe has used NEDC and WLTP procedures, the US uses EPA testing, and Canada uses a 5-cycle test.
