What is the Nissan Townstar?
The Townstar is Nissan’s compact light commercial vehicle for Europe, offered as a van and in a passenger-carrying version. Its compact format suits urban deliveries, carrying equipment and everyday passenger journeys. It is the smaller van in Nissan’s European commercial range.
Introduced in 2022, the Townstar is available with electric drive as well as a petrol engine. It followed Nissan’s e-NV200 in the company’s electric commercial vehicle line. The Townstar is based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-C platform and has its own Nissan styling.
Townstar generation and engines
The first-generation Townstar, code XFK, began in 2022 and continues today. Its design brought Nissan’s newer European styling to the compact van, including a grille pattern inspired by Japanese craft motifs.
