What is the Ford Grand C-Max?
The Grand C-Max is a compact people carrier designed for family life. Sliding rear doors make it easier to get in and out in tight spaces, and the longer body offered the choice of up to seven seats. A walk-through space between the middle-row seats gives passengers a route to the back.
It sat alongside the five-seat C-Max in Ford’s range. The two models gave buyers a choice between a more compact family car and a longer version with extra seating flexibility.
Generations and engines
The second-generation C-Max family ran from 2010 to 2019, with the Grand C-Max carrying the C344 model code. Its longer body, sliding doors and optional third row set it apart from the five-seat C-Max.
Engine choice varied by market and year. Across EU registrations, the range spanned 1.0 to 2.0 litres, with petrol, diesel and other fuel types and power from 70 kW (95 PS) to 165 kW (224 PS). UK figures cover petrol and diesel engines from 1.0 to 2.0 litres, rated from 74 kW (100 PS) to 134 kW (182 PS). French figures show power from 70 kW (95 PS) to 134 kW (182 PS).
Fuel consumption and markets
The lowest listed consumption in the UK is 4.4 L/100 km on the NEDC test. France’s lowest listed figure is 4.6 L/100 km, also on NEDC. These are official test results; real-world consumption varies with the car and how it is driven.
EU registration figures total 345,442 for 2010–2020. Among the leading entries are 1.6-litre diesels rated at 85 kW (116 PS) and a 1.5-litre diesel rated at 88 kW (120 PS). The Grand C-Max brought a particularly flexible seating layout to Ford’s compact family-car range.
