What is the DS 7?

The DS 7 is a five-door SUV with a roomy cabin and a focus on comfort and considered interior details. It was first introduced as the DS 7 Crossback, the first model in a new generation of DS cars. Its distinctive lighting and carefully finished interior helped set the design direction for the brand’s later models.

DS Automobiles became a standalone brand in 2014, drawing on the heritage of the original DS, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1955. The brand’s identity brings together French design, comfort and technology.

Generations and engines

The first generation has been built since 2017. It was sold as the DS 7 Crossback before the Crossback name was dropped. In the EU, engines ranged from 1.2 to 2.0 litres, with diesel, petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Power spanned 63 kW (86 PS) to 165 kW (224 PS). The UK range also included versions up to 200 kW (272 PS).

Plug-in hybrids pair a petrol engine with electric power, while hybrid versions use electric assistance alongside petrol power. The range included both diesel and electrified options.

Fuel consumption and CO₂

In the EU, the lowest official consumption for petrol, diesel and hybrid versions is 5.1 L/100 km on the WLTP test. The lowest plug-in hybrid figure is 1.2 L/100 km WLTP, a weighted figure that assumes some driving is electric. In the UK, the lowest listed figure for petrol, diesel and hybrid versions is 3.9 L/100 km under the older NEDC procedure. WLTP and NEDC use different test procedures, so the figures are not directly comparable.

Where was the DS 7 sold?

EU registration figures span 2017–2025, while UK figures span 2018–2024. France has a plug-in hybrid entry for 2026. EU registrations total 254,451 DS 7s. With its spacious interior and SUV shape, the DS 7 brought a larger family car to the DS range.

Official figures are measured on standard test procedures and differ between markets. Your consumption depends on how, where and in what conditions you drive.
