What is the Acura TSX?
The Acura TSX is a compact sedan that also came as a Sport Wagon in its later years. It offered a smaller, more focused alternative within Acura’s North American lineup. The sedan was based on the Accord sold in Japan and Europe, while the larger North American Accord remained a separate model.
The TSX paired an everyday family-car shape with the more polished cabin and equipment expected of Acura. The Sport Wagon added a practical cargo area while keeping the model’s compact character.
TSX generations
The first generation, CL9, ran from 2004 to 2008. It established the TSX as a four-door sedan with a sportier feel within Acura’s range.
The second generation, CU2 and CU4, followed from 2009 to 2014. It brought a larger design and added a V6 option and the Sport Wagon body style. The TSX ended after this generation as Acura reshaped its sedan lineup.
Engines and power
The US and Canadian TSX ranges used petrol engines from 2.4 L to 3.5 L. The range included a four-cylinder engine and, in later versions, a V6.
Fuel consumption and where it was sold
The TSX was sold in the United States and Canada from 2004 to 2014. US EPA figures give a best combined rating of 25 MPG and lowest listed consumption of 9.4 L/100 km. Canadian NRCan figures give lowest listed consumption of 9.2 L/100 km on the 5-cycle test. The EPA and Canadian 5-cycle procedures differ, so their results are not directly comparable.
