OBD-II fault code

C063B: Brake Pressure Sensor H Circuit Low

What it means

Brake pressure sensor H signal voltage below expected range. Wiring faults of this kind typically come from chafing, water ingress at connector seals, or pin push-back — a wiggle test on the harness while the code is active often confirms the location.

At a glance

  • Usually lights the ABS or stability-control warning light
  • The engine or gearbox may go into limp mode

How it works

Brake pressure sensor H sends its pressure signal to the brake control module, which uses it for ABS and stability control. C063B sets when the signal falls below the expected range, commonly because the signal wire is grounded or its connector has a poor contact.

Common causes

Most likely first.

  1. Signal wire shorted to ground
  2. Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
  3. Harness chafing through insulation

Symptoms

  • ABS warning light on
  • ESC/stability control deactivated
  • Possible reduced brake assist
  • Speedometer may behave erratically

How to diagnose it

  1. Save freeze-frame data and compare sensor H’s live pressure signal with other available pressure readings.
  2. With the fault present, gently move the sensor H harness while watching the scan data for signal changes or dropouts.
  3. Inspect sensor H’s wiring for chafing through insulation, moisture, corroded contacts, and terminals pushed back in the connector.
  4. Check the sensor H signal wire for a short to ground and examine connector contact condition using the vehicle’s wiring diagram.
  5. If the wiring and connector are sound, test sensor H and its module input against the manufacturer’s procedure.

Common fixes

  • Repair chafed or damaged sensor H wiring.
  • Clean or repair corroded or loose connector terminals and restore the seal.
  • Repair a signal wire short to ground.
  • Replace sensor H or repair a confirmed module input fault.

Can I keep driving?

Basic braking may remain, but ABS and stability control can be unavailable and brake assist may be reduced. Drive cautiously and arrange prompt diagnosis; stop driving if braking feels abnormal.

A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together

This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
