What it means
Left EPB actuator control voltage above expected range. Wiring faults of this kind typically come from chafing, water ingress at connector seals, or pin push-back — a wiggle test on the harness while the code is active often confirms the location.
At a glance
- Usually lights the ABS or stability-control warning light
- The engine or gearbox may go into limp mode
How it works
The left park brake actuator operates the parking brake at the left wheel, while the control module monitors the actuator's electrical circuit. C060D sets when the left actuator circuit voltage rises above its expected range, commonly because a wire contacts battery power or a connector has a poor contact.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Wiring shorted to battery
- Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Supply wire pinched against B+ source
Symptoms
- ABS warning light on
- ESC/stability control deactivated
- Possible reduced brake assist
- Speedometer may behave erratically
How to diagnose it
- Record freeze-frame data and check live left park brake actuator status to see when the high reading appears.
- Inspect the left actuator harness for pinching, chafing, or contact with a battery-power wire or other powered source.
- Check the left actuator connector for corrosion, loose terminals, pushed-back pins, or damaged seals.
- Move the harness gently while monitoring circuit status to check for an intermittent high reading.
- Test the left control wire for an unintended connection to battery power and assess connector contact using the manufacturer's procedure.
Common fixes
- Repair a left actuator wire shorted to battery power or pinched against a powered wire.
- Clean or repair corroded, loose, or pushed-back connector terminals.
- Replace damaged seals and reroute the harness away from sharp edges and powered wiring.
- Replace the left actuator or repair the module only if circuit tests confirm an internal fault.
Can I keep driving?
The left parking brake may not apply or release correctly, and stability functions may be limited. Do not drive if the brake is dragging or braking feels abnormal, and arrange prompt repair.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
