What is the Vauxhall Vivaro?

The Vivaro is Vauxhall’s mid-size commercial van, built for carrying goods or people in a more manageable size than a large delivery van. Depending on body and seating configuration, it serves tradespeople, businesses and passenger transport. The name has also been used by Opel in continental Europe.

The Vivaro’s history reflects changing partnerships in the van market. Generations A and B were related to the Renault Trafic; generation C moved to a different shared vehicle family after Opel and Vauxhall joined the PSA group.

Generations and engines

Vivaro A ran from 2001 to 2014, followed by Vivaro B from 2014 to 2019. Vivaro C began in 2019 and its generation years are listed through 2025. The later change of base brought a new chapter for the name while keeping its role as a medium-sized work and passenger van.

The EU figures cover diesel, petrol and electric power, with listed engine sizes from 1.0 L to 2.0 L. The UK VCA figures cover diesel engines from 1.9 L to 2.0 L, with power from 66 kW (90 PS) to 85 kW (115 PS). The EU’s leading listed registration years feature 1.6 L diesel versions in 2016 and 2017, and a 2.0 L diesel in 2013.

Fuel consumption and CO₂

The lowest UK fuel-consumption figure listed is 7.4 L/100 km on the NEDC test. NEDC is a European test procedure and differs from WLTP. The EU registration figures cover 2010–2020 and record 18,122 Vivaros; UK VCA figures cover 2007–2010. These market periods do not cover the same years.

No numerical CO₂ figure is available to quote here. The Vivaro’s fuel and engine choices differ by generation and market, so consumption and emissions should be checked for the specific version.

Where was the Vivaro sold?

The figures cover the United Kingdom and European Union (EEA registrations). In the UK it carried the Vauxhall badge; in much of continental Europe the same model was sold as an Opel. The model’s commercial role spans both cargo and passenger uses, with its precise configuration depending on version.
