What is the CUPRA Formentor?
The CUPRA Formentor is a crossover SUV with a sloping roofline and a raised stance. It was the first model developed exclusively for CUPRA, giving the young marque a distinctive shape of its own.
The first generation, code KM, began in 2020. Its design combines the higher seating position and practical cabin of a crossover with a more tapered rear profile.
Engines and power
EU versions span 1.4 to 2.0 litres and 110 kW (150 PS) to 228 kW (310 PS). The range includes petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models. UK versions also span 1.4 to 2.0 litres, with outputs from 110 kW (150 PS) to 310 kW (421 PS); listed fuels are petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
The plug-in hybrid pairs a petrol engine with electric drive and can be charged externally. Petrol and diesel versions do not need charging.
How economical is the CUPRA Formentor?
In EU figures, the lowest listed consumption for petrol, diesel and hybrid versions is 5.8 L/100 km on WLTP. The plug-in hybrid’s lowest official weighted figure is 1.4 L/100 km, assuming some driving uses electric power.
In the UK, the lowest listed consumption for petrol, diesel and hybrid versions is 5.7 L/100 km on WLTP. The plug-in hybrid’s lowest weighted figure is 5.3 L/100 km. A weighted plug-in hybrid result assumes electric driving, so charging and use affect real-world consumption. Test procedures differ between markets: Europe uses WLTP and has also used NEDC, while the USA uses EPA testing and Canada uses a 5-cycle procedure.
Where was the CUPRA Formentor sold?
EU registration figures cover 2020 to 2025, and UK versions are listed from 2021 to 2026. EU versions include petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models; UK versions include petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.
