What is the McLaren Artura?

The Artura is a mid-engined plug-in hybrid supercar. It pairs a petrol engine with electric drive and is McLaren’s first series-production hybrid supercar. Its carbon-fibre structure continues the marque’s focus on lightweight construction, shaped by its racing experience.

McLaren was founded by racing driver Bruce McLaren in 1963. The company’s road cars grew from that competition background, and the Artura brings hybrid power to its supercar range.

Generations, engines and power

The Artura is listed as one generation, beginning in 2022. Its 3.0-litre engine is offered with plug-in hybrid power in the market figures. EU versions are rated from 430 kW (585 PS) to 445 kW (605 PS). UK figures range from 430 kW (585 PS) to 585 kW (795 PS).

How economical is the McLaren Artura?

The lowest EU figure is 4.6 L/100 km on WLTP for the plug-in hybrid. This weighted figure assumes some driving is electric, so actual consumption depends on how often the battery is charged and how much of the journey is driven electrically.

The US EPA figure is 13.1 L/100 km for the plug-in hybrid. WLTP and EPA use different test procedures, and the Artura’s weighted plug-in hybrid figure assumes electric driving. EU registrations total 325 cars from 2023 to 2025.

Where was the Artura sold?

The Artura appears in EU, UK and US figures. EU registrations span 2023 to 2025, UK figures run from 2023 to 2026, and the US EPA listing covers 2023.
