What is the Maserati Grecale?

The Grecale is Maserati’s SUV, with a more upright, practical shape than the brand’s coupés and convertibles. It brings the marque’s sporting character to a car suited to everyday journeys. Maserati presented it in 2022; EU registration figures begin in 2022, while US and Canadian figures begin in 2023.

Named after a Mediterranean wind, the Grecale joins Maserati’s tradition of wind-inspired model names. Its range includes petrol, hybrid and fully electric power. The electric Folgore is Maserati’s first fully electric SUV.

Generation, engines and power

The Grecale is a single generation, M182, beginning in 2023. Early versions paired four-cylinder engines with mild-hybrid assistance, while the Trofeo uses a petrol V6 derived from the Nettuno engine in the MC20. Maserati later added the all-electric Folgore.

Across EU versions, engine sizes range from 2.0 to 3.0 litres and power from 184 kW (250 PS) to 410 kW (557 PS). EU and US versions include petrol, hybrid and electric power; the listed Canadian versions are petrol.

How economical is the Maserati Grecale?

The lowest listed EU consumption is 8.9 L/100 km on WLTP. France’s listed figure is 8.7 L/100 km, also on WLTP. In the United States, the EPA’s lowest listed figure is 9.4 L/100 km, with a best combined rating of 25 MPG. Canada’s lowest listed figure is 9.4 L/100 km on the 5-cycle test.

These figures use different procedures and cover different versions. WLTP is used in Europe; the EPA procedure applies in the United States, and Canada uses its 5-cycle test.

Where was the Grecale sold?

EU registration figures span 2022–2025 and record 13,000 Grecales. US and Canadian figures begin in 2023; France’s listed figures are for 2026.
