What is the Polestar 4?

The Polestar 4 is an electric SUV coupé, with a raised stance and sloping roof. It sits in the brand’s electric range between the Polestar 2 fastback and the larger Polestar 3 SUV. Polestar developed from a Swedish performance name into a standalone electric performance brand.

The first generation began in 2024. EU registration figures cover 2024–2025, while US and Canadian figures begin in 2025. One distinctive feature is its lack of a conventional rear window: a camera feed appears on a screen in place of the usual rear-view mirror.

Generations, engines and power

The first generation spans 2024 to today. The Polestar 4 is electric, with single- and dual-motor versions. EU versions range from 75 kW (102 PS) to 600 kW (816 PS), while Canadian versions range from 200 kW (272 PS) to 400 kW (544 PS).

The cabin and body are designed to preserve rear-seat space beneath the coupé-like roof. The camera based rear view allows the car to dispense with a conventional rear window.

How economical is the Polestar 4?

The Polestar 4 runs on electricity, so it has no petrol or diesel consumption figure and produces no tailpipe CO₂ while driving. Electricity use and driving range vary by version and market.

European figures use WLTP, or NEDC for some earlier cars; US EPA and Canadian 5-cycle figures use different procedures. Results from these markets are not directly interchangeable.

Where is the Polestar 4 sold?

The Polestar 4 appears in EU registration figures for 2024–2025 and in US EPA and Canadian NRCan figures for 2025–2026. It is electric in all three markets. Among listed EU versions, the most registered in 2025 was the 200 kW (272 PS) model, followed by 400 kW (544 PS) versions.
