What is the Honda ZR-V?

The Honda ZR-V is a compact SUV in the C-segment. In Honda’s European range, it sits between the smaller HR-V and the larger CR-V, offering a middle-sized option with a hybrid powertrain. Its upright shape and practical cabin suit everyday family use.

The first generation joined Honda’s European SUV line-up in 2023. It draws on the Civic for its platform and chassis and brings Honda’s e:HEV hybrid system to this part of the range.

Engines and power

EU entries focus on a 2.0-litre hybrid, with power figures from 105 kW (143 PS) to 135 kW (184 PS). In EU registration figures, the 105 kW (143 PS) hybrid is the leading listed entry. UK figures, which begin in 2025, list a 2.0-litre hybrid producing 135 kW (184 PS).

Honda’s e:HEV system combines a petrol engine with electric motors. EU entries also include petrol and plug-in hybrid fuel categories.

How economical is the Honda ZR-V?

The lowest listed EU consumption is 5.8 L/100 km on the WLTP test. The same figure is listed for the plug-in hybrid as an official weighted result that assumes some driving is electric. In the UK, the lowest listed figure is 5.7 L/100 km, also on WLTP.

Official EU registration figures cover 2023 to 2025 and record 14,398 registrations. UK figures cover 2025 to 2026. When comparing markets, bear in mind that test procedures differ: Europe uses WLTP, the US uses EPA, and Canada uses the 5-cycle test.

Where was the Honda ZR-V sold?

The ZR-V appears in official figures for the European Union and the United Kingdom. Honda introduced it to Europe as part of its SUV range, between the HR-V and CR-V. Its first generation is listed from 2023 onward.
