What is the Ford Transit Custom?
The Transit Custom is Ford’s medium-sized commercial van, introduced in late 2012 as part of an expanded Transit line-up. It serves businesses that need a van for carrying people, equipment or goods, and it is also offered in passenger-focused forms.
Generations and engines
The first generation, code V362, ran from 2012 to 2023. The second generation, code V710, began in 2024. The newer model brought a redesigned range of body styles, including van and passenger versions. EU registration figures from 2013 to 2024 include diesel and plug-in hybrid models with engines from 2.0 to 2.2 litres and power from 92 kW (125 PS) to 125 kW (170 PS).
Fuel consumption, CO₂ and registrations
The lowest stated EU fuel consumption is 7.7 L/100 km on the WLTP test for petrol, diesel and hybrid versions. WLTP and the earlier European NEDC procedure differ from the EPA test in the United States and the 5-cycle test in Canada, so results from those markets are not directly comparable. EU registrations total 1,676. A 2.2-litre diesel rated at 114 kW (155 PS) recorded 302 registrations in 2013 and 294 in 2014; a 92 kW (125 PS) diesel recorded 270 in 2013.
