What is the Ferrari 599?

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a two-seat grand touring coupé with a front-mounted V12. It combines the long-distance character of a Ferrari GT with the low, sleek shape of a berlinetta. The Fiorano name comes from Ferrari’s test track.

Generations and design

The 599 (F141) was produced from 2007 to 2012, following the 575M Maranello in Ferrari’s line of front-engined V12 grand tourers. Its V12 was based on the engine in the Enzo Ferrari, and the car offered an F1-SuperFast automated manual gearbox with paddle-operated shifts.

The 599 ran on petrol. EU registration figures list a 6.0-litre engine, with outputs from 456 kW (620 PS) to 489 kW (665 PS). US EPA listings span 5.7 to 5.9 litres; Canada’s NRCan listings specify 6.0 litres.

Official consumption figures use different test procedures: WLTP or NEDC in Europe, EPA in the USA and the 5-cycle test in Canada. The UK VCA lists 17.9 L/100 km on NEDC. The EPA figure is 18.1 L/100 km, or 13 MPG combined, and NRCan lists 18.9 L/100 km.
