What is the Pagani Huayra?

The Huayra is a two-seat Italian supercar and the successor to Pagani’s Zonda. Its mid-mounted V12 sits behind a cabin shaped around the driving experience. The Huayra also reflects Pagani’s interest in combining design and engineering, with a carbon-and-titanium composite structure and movable aerodynamic flaps that help manage airflow.

The original Huayra ran from 2011 to 2018. The Huayra BC followed from 2016 to 2019, while the open-top Huayra Roadster ran from 2017 to 2020. Their years overlap because these versions were developed alongside one another. The Roadster BC, introduced later, brought a more track-focused approach to the open-top model.

Engines and power

The Huayra family is built around a 6.0-litre, twin-turbo petrol V12 developed for Pagani by Mercedes-AMG. Power varies between versions. Twin turbochargers deliver the engine’s performance, while the composite structure helps keep the car light.

The Huayra carries on founder Horacio Pagani’s interest in advanced materials and the meeting of art and science. Its carefully detailed cabin, sculpted bodywork and active aerodynamics mark a shift from the Zonda’s more fixed aerodynamic design.

How economical is the Pagani Huayra?

In the United States, EPA figures for the Huayra cover 2014–2023. The best combined rating is 13 MPG, or 18.1 L/100 km. These are US EPA test results; European WLTP and NEDC procedures differ, so ratings from different markets are not directly comparable.

The US versions use petrol and a 6.0-litre engine. The EPA rating reflects the Huayra’s high-performance character.

Where was the Pagani Huayra sold?

In the United States, EPA figures cover four Huayra versions from 2014 to 2023. Pagani is an Italian manufacturer, and the Huayra was designed for customers around the world.
