What is the RUF CTR3?

The CTR3 is a mid-engined sports car made by German company RUF. Its distinctive layout marked a change from the rear-engined approach of the earlier CTR models. RUF began as a Porsche specialist and later developed cars with its own designs and engineering. The CTR3 is a focused two-seat sports car, with a more purposeful character than an everyday family car.

RUF unveiled the CTR3 in 2007 as a new design with a custom chassis.

Generations

The CTR3 moved the CTR name into a new layout, with its engine behind the seats rather than at the rear. It was a substantial change in character from the earlier CTR models.

Engines and power

The CTR3 is listed with a 3.8 L petrol engine. The United States EPA figures include two versions.

How economical is the RUF CTR3?

The EPA gives the CTR3 a best combined rating of 19 MPG. Its lowest listed consumption is 12.4 L/100 km on the EPA test. European WLTP and NEDC procedures and Canada’s 5-cycle test measure consumption differently, so figures from those markets are not directly comparable.
