What is the Mitsubishi Grandis?
The Grandis is a three-row family MPV designed to carry passengers in a roomy cabin. Mitsubishi launched it in 2003 as the fourth generation of its Chariot line, dropping the Chariot name. The earlier models were also known as the Space Wagon in some markets.
Mitsubishi described the Grandis as a new kind of premium minivan. Its long, single-volume shape reflects its focus on passenger space, and production of this generation ended in 2011.
Generation and engines
There was one Grandis generation, identified by the codes NA and BA, running from 2004 to 2011. EU versions span 1.3 to 2.4 litres and 80 kW (109 PS) to 121 kW (165 PS). Petrol and diesel versions appear in the EU and UK figures.
UK versions had 2.0 to 2.4-litre petrol and diesel engines.
Fuel consumption and markets
In EU registrations, the lowest listed consumption is 4.4 L/100 km on the WLTP test. The UK VCA figure is 6.6 L/100 km on NEDC. WLTP and NEDC are different European test procedures, so their results are not directly equivalent.
EU registration figures cover 2010 to 2025 and show 3,877 registrations. The most registered listed version was the 2.0-litre diesel in 2010, with 2,580 registrations. The next entries were a 2.4-litre petrol with 592 registrations and a 2.4-litre petrol rated at 121 kW (165 PS) with 244 registrations. UK versions cover 2006 to 2010.
