What is the Lexus LBX?
The LBX is a compact luxury crossover with a raised driving position and a small-car footprint. It extended Lexus’s range into a smaller vehicle class, with hybrid power and a cabin shaped around comfort and everyday use. Lexus introduced it as a new model in its line-up.
Unveiled in 2023, the LBX was developed with Europe among its intended markets. It uses a substantially revised version of Toyota’s GA-B compact-car platform, with changes to its structure and hybrid system. Its exterior introduced Lexus’s Unified Spindle front-end design, while the interior reflects the brand’s focus on hospitality.
Lexus LBX generation
The first generation, introduced in 2023, is the LBX’s only generation so far. It arrived as a new model in the Lexus range. EU registrations begin in 2023, while UK VCA figures begin in 2024.
Engines, power and fuel consumption
The LBX uses a 1.5 L hybrid system. EU power figures run from 67 kW (91 PS) to 69 kW (94 PS), while UK figures span 100 kW (136 PS) to 136 kW (185 PS). These figures describe different versions in each market.
The lowest listed consumption is 4.5 L/100 km on the WLTP test in both the EU and UK. EU figures also include a 4.6 L/100 km weighted figure for plug-in hybrid versions, which assumes that part of the driving is electric.
Where is the Lexus LBX sold?
The LBX appears in EU registration figures for 2023–2025 and in UK VCA figures for 2024–2026. The recorded versions in both markets are hybrids.
