What is the WEY Coffee 02?

The WEY Coffee 02 is a five-door crossover SUV from Great Wall Motor’s WEY line, the company’s premium SUV brand. Its SUV shape and plug-in hybrid system give it room for everyday use and the option of electric driving for some journeys.

Great Wall Motor is a Chinese vehicle maker whose range includes SUVs, passenger cars and pickups. In Europe, the Coffee 02 later took the name GWM WEY 03.

Generation, engine and power

The first generation began in 2023. In EU registrations, the Coffee 02 appears from 2023 to 2025 as a plug-in hybrid with a 2.0 L engine rated at 150 kW (204 PS). Plug-in hybrids combine an engine and electric motor, and can be charged from an external power source.

How economical is the WEY Coffee 02?

The lowest official weighted fuel-consumption figure is 0.6 L/100 km on the WLTP test. This plug-in hybrid figure assumes that part of the driving is electric, so real-world fuel use depends on charging and driving conditions.

The Coffee 02 recorded 406 EU registrations from 2023 to 2025. European WLTP and NEDC procedures differ from the EPA tests used in the USA and Canada’s 5-cycle procedure, so results from those markets are not directly comparable.
