What is the Bugatti Chiron?
The Chiron is a two-seat hyper sports car, offered as a coupé and in performance-focused versions. It followed the Veyron at the top of Bugatti’s modern range, pairing a hand-finished cabin with a powerful mid-mounted engine. Its horseshoe grille and sweeping central body line carry familiar Bugatti design cues.
Bugatti was founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909 and is closely associated with Molsheim, France. The Chiron continued the marque’s tradition of combining engineering with distinctive design.
Chiron generations
The Chiron has one generation, spanning 2016 to 2024. It followed the Veyron with an updated structure, cabin and a wider family of versions. The Chiron Sport, Pur Sport and Super Sport each brought a different focus, from handling to high-speed touring.
The Divo was a separate Chiron-based model, rather than a Chiron generation.
Engines and power
The Chiron has an 8.0-litre petrol engine. The EU-listed version produces 1,103 kW (1,500 PS). Bugatti’s modern W16 engine uses four turbochargers, and the Chiron sends power to all four wheels.
