What is the Audi 100?

The Audi 100 was a large saloon in the maker’s range, positioned above the smaller Audi 80. The C3 generation helped establish Audi as a technically minded premium brand, with a notably aerodynamic body.

Audi 100 generations

The C3 (Typ 44) covered 1989–1991 in the United States. Its smooth, aerodynamic shape gave the car a distinctive profile and reflected Audi’s attention to airflow and efficiency.

The C4 (Typ 4A) followed for 1992–1994, with a more rounded design. Together, the generations show the Audi 100’s move from the C3’s sharper lines to a softer shape.
