What is the Alfa Romeo Giulia?
The Giulia is a four-door saloon that brought the name back to Alfa Romeo’s range. Its design pairs a long bonnet with a compact cabin and sculpted bodywork, while the name links it to an earlier Alfa Romeo saloon.
The Type 952 generation began in 2016. The range includes everyday petrol and diesel versions as well as the high-performance Quadrifoglio, giving the Giulia a broad role in Alfa Romeo’s saloon lineup.
Engines and power
In EU listings, engine sizes range from 2.0 to 2.9 litres and fuel categories include petrol, diesel and hybrid. Listed power spans 100 kW (136 PS) to 397 kW (540 PS). The 2.1-litre diesel rated at 110 kW (150 PS) leads the EU registration entries, followed by higher-output 2.1-litre diesels.
The UK listing gives a power range of 118 kW (160 PS) to 512 kW (696 PS), while the French listing gives 118 kW (160 PS) to 375 kW (510 PS). These are figures for their respective market listings.
How economical is the Alfa Romeo Giulia?
The lowest listed EU consumption is 4.9 L/100 km on WLTP. France lists 4.8 L/100 km, also on WLTP, while the UK low is 4.2 L/100 km on NEDC. In the USA, the EPA lists 8.7 L/100 km, or 27 MPG combined; Canada lists 8.7 L/100 km on its 5-cycle test.
Test procedures differ by market: WLTP and NEDC are used in Europe, EPA in the USA, and a 5-cycle test in Canada. The results are best understood within each procedure rather than treated as directly equivalent.
Where is the Giulia sold?
The EU, UK, France, USA and Canada have listings for the Giulia. Official EU registration figures for 2016–2025 total 157,165. The North American listings cover petrol versions, while European listings include petrol and diesel.
