OBD-II fault code

B0132: A/V Sensor Washer Fluid D Control Circuit

What it means

The control module monitors the control circuit for A/V sensor washer fluid pump D. It sets this code when the circuit’s electrical response is outside the expected range or the pump does not respond as commanded.

At a glance

  • Usually lights the airbag (SRS) or body-system warning light

How it works

The A/V sensor washer system uses pump D to spray cleaning fluid onto an audio/video sensor lens. The control module monitors pump D’s circuit and sets B0132 when the circuit response is out of range or pump D fails to respond as commanded.

Common causes

Most likely first.

  1. Failed washer fluid pump
  2. Open or shorted pump wiring
  3. Loose or corroded connector
  4. Blown fuse or power supply fault
  5. Blocked pump or washer-fluid passage

Symptoms

  • Warning light or symbol related to the affected system
  • Comfort or safety function impaired

How to diagnose it

  1. Save freeze-frame data and check for related washer or A/V sensor codes to establish whether pump D is the only affected circuit.
  2. Verify washer fluid is available, then command pump D with a scan tool if supported and check whether it runs and delivers fluid.
  3. Inspect pump D’s connector and harness for loose terminals, corrosion, damage, or fluid intrusion.
  4. Test the fuse, power, ground, and control circuit for pump D using the wiring diagram and manufacturer’s specification.
  5. If the electrical circuit checks out, inspect the pump D fluid passage, hose, and sensor nozzle for a blockage.

Common fixes

  • Refill the washer-fluid reservoir if needed.
  • Clear a blocked hose or nozzle in pump D’s fluid path.
  • Repair pump D wiring or connector damage, including an open or short.
  • Replace the relevant failed fuse after correcting any cause of the fuse failure.
  • Replace pump D if it does not operate with correct circuit inputs.

Can I keep driving?

You can usually continue driving, but the sensor cleaned by pump D may not stay clear and its related driver-assistance function may be impaired. Clean the sensor when safe and avoid relying on that assistance until the fault is repaired.

A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together

This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
