What it means
Fault on the control circuit of the audio/video sensor washer fluid pump A. Sprays cleaning fluid on ADAS audio/video sensor lenses.
At a glance
- Usually lights the airbag (SRS) or body-system warning light
How it works
The A/V sensor washer system uses pump A to spray cleaning fluid onto an audio/video sensor lens. The control module monitors pump A’s control circuit and sets B012F when the circuit response is faulty or the pump does not operate as commanded, which can leave that sensor dirty.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Failed washer fluid pump
- Open or shorted pump wiring
- Loose or corroded connector
- Blown fuse or power supply fault
- Blocked pump or washer-fluid passage
Symptoms
- Warning light or symbol related to the affected system
- Comfort or safety function impaired
How to diagnose it
- Check the freeze-frame data and any A/V sensor or washer-system messages to learn when pump A’s circuit fault appeared.
- Confirm the washer reservoir has fluid, then command pump A with a scan tool if supported and listen for operation.
- Inspect pump A’s connector and wiring for damage, loose fit, corrosion, or signs of fluid intrusion.
- Check the relevant fuse and verify power, ground, and control at pump A against the wiring diagram and manufacturer’s specification.
- If the circuit is intact, check for a blocked pump, hose, or nozzle in the washer-fluid path to the A/V sensor.
Common fixes
- Refill the washer reservoir with suitable fluid if it is low.
- Clear a blocked hose or nozzle serving the A/V sensor cleaned by pump A.
- Repair loose, corroded, open, or shorted wiring at pump A.
- Replace a failed fuse after checking for the cause of the failure.
- Replace pump A if its supply and control circuits are sound but it does not operate.
Can I keep driving?
You can generally drive if the vehicle has no other warnings, but keep in mind that the A/V sensor lens may not be cleaned and its related driver-assistance function may be impaired. Clean the lens safely when needed and do not rely on that assistance until visibility is restored.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
