What is the SWM G01?

The SWM G01 is a five-door SUV in the brand’s car range, with a cabin and body shape suited to everyday driving and family trips. It made its debut in 2018, and its first generation continues today. In the European Union, registrations run from 2021 through 2025.

SWM began as an Italian motorcycle marque. Shineray acquired the brand in 2014, bringing it into a new chapter that included passenger cars. The G01 was among the marque’s early SUVs.

Generations and engines

The G01 has one named generation, spanning 2018 to today. The model’s debut in Milan marked SWM’s move into SUVs under the G01 name.

In the EU range, the G01 has a 1.5-litre petrol engine, with power from 98 kW (133 PS) to 133 kW (181 PS). The 98 kW (133 PS) version was the most registered configuration in 2023, with 594 registrations.

How economical is the SWM G01?

The lowest listed official consumption for the EU range is 8 L/100 km on the WLTP test. EU registrations run from 2021 to 2025. WLTP is used in Europe; the US EPA and Canadian 5-cycle procedures differ, so figures from those markets are not directly equivalent.
