What is the GMC Canyon?
The GMC Canyon is a midsize pickup, smaller than the full-size Sierra. Its open cargo bed and more compact size suit drivers who want truck utility in a midsize format. The lineup includes Elevation, off-road-focused AT4 and Denali trims. AT4X adds a more specialized off-road option.
The Canyon has been sold in the United States and Canada. EPA and NRCan figures span 2004–2026 and include petrol and diesel versions.
Canyon generations
The first generation, GMT355, ran from 2004 to 2012. The second generation, GMT31XX, covered 2015–2022. The third generation, GMT31XX-2, began in 2023 and continues today.
The 2023 redesign brought new exterior and interior styling, a factory lift and a wider track. GMC also added the Canyon AT4X, with equipment and technology focused on off-road driving.
