What it means
The generator inverter power supply A circuit voltage is below the expected range.
At a glance
- Usually lights the check-engine light
- The engine or gearbox may go into limp mode
How it works
Supply circuit A powers the generator inverter, and the control module monitors its voltage. P0E10 sets when that voltage falls below the expected range, which can result from a collapsed supply, a short to ground, or high resistance at a corroded connector.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Supply voltage collapsed
- Wire shorted to ground
- Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
Symptoms
- Hybrid/EV system warning light may turn on
- Reduced power or charging performance
How to diagnose it
- Record freeze-frame data and scan for related inverter supply codes to identify when circuit A voltage dropped.
- Check live supply A voltage, where available, and compare it with the manufacturer's specification under the conditions in the freeze-frame.
- Following the high-voltage safety procedure, inspect the supply A fuse, wiring, and connectors for corrosion, damage, loose terminals, or signs of overheating.
- Measure voltage drop across the supply A connections under the manufacturer's specified test conditions to find high resistance.
- If connector resistance is not the cause, test the supply wire for a short to ground and check the upstream feed for voltage collapse.
Common fixes
- Clean or repair corroded supply A connector contacts.
- Repair damaged supply A wiring or a short to ground.
- Replace a failed fuse or restore a poor fuse connection after checking the cause.
- Repair an upstream supply fault confirmed by voltage testing.
Can I keep driving?
Limit driving if hybrid power or charging is reduced, and stop safely if the vehicle cannot maintain reliable propulsion. The inverter may shut down or the hybrid system may restrict operation while supply A remains low.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
