What it means
Active air dam supply voltage above expected range. Wiring faults of this kind typically come from chafing, water ingress at connector seals, or pin push-back — a wiggle test on the harness while the code is active often confirms the location.
At a glance
- Usually lights the ABS or stability-control warning light
How it works
The active air dam is a movable panel that helps manage airflow under the vehicle, and its actuator receives power through a supply circuit. The control module monitors that supply and sets C062F when voltage is higher than expected, which may expose the actuator or module to an incorrect supply level.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Charging system overvoltage
- Connector pins corroded - high contact resistance
- Supply wire pinched against B+ source
Symptoms
- ABS warning light on
- ESC/stability control deactivated
- Possible reduced brake assist
- Speedometer may behave erratically
How to diagnose it
- Read the code and freeze-frame data with a scan tool that can access the reporting module, and note whether the high-voltage fault coincided with charging-system activity.
- Inspect the active air dam supply wire and connector for pinching, damaged insulation, or a wire touching a battery-positive source.
- Check the charging system for overvoltage using the manufacturer's test procedure.
- Measure the supply at the air dam connector and compare it with the manufacturer's specification while the fault is present.
- If charging voltage is normal, isolate and inspect the supply circuit for a short to battery voltage and check connector pins for corrosion or damage.
Common fixes
- Repair a pinched supply wire or short to battery voltage.
- Replace damaged connector terminals and restore proper connector sealing.
- Repair a charging-system fault if testing confirms overvoltage.
- Repair the affected supply harness connection identified by circuit testing.
Can I keep driving?
Avoid operating or repeatedly commanding the active air dam while its supply is above the expected range, since an incorrect voltage can damage its actuator or control electronics. If brake or stability warnings also appear, drive cautiously and have those warnings assessed.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
