Shared pedestrian and cycle path
Mandatory signs

Shared pedestrian and cycle path

Path shared by pedestrians and cyclists.

This sign marks a route for pedestrians and cyclists. On an unsegregated path, both groups use the same space, so cyclists should leave room when passing pedestrians.

The United Kingdom sign (956) is a blue circle with white pedestrian and bicycle symbols, one above the other. The United States sign (R9-7) has a different function: it directs pedestrians and cyclists to separate sides of a shared route.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
