Mandatory signs

Turn left

You must turn left.

Take the left turn indicated by the arrow. The sign may indicate a turn at that point or a turn ahead.

A common design is a blue circle with a white arrow pointing left. An arrow bending upwards and then left is used for a turn ahead in the United Kingdom.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
