What is the Saturn Relay?
The Relay was Saturn’s minivan, with sliding side doors and three rows of seating. Its tall cabin and family-focused layout made room for passengers and everyday cargo. The minivan brought Saturn into a vehicle class beyond the smaller cars with which the brand began.
Saturn was created by General Motors as a distinct car company. The Relay shared its basic platform with other GM minivans, while carrying Saturn styling and badging.
Generations and years
The Relay had one generation, sold from 2005 to 2007 in the United States and Canada. It used GM’s GMT201 platform and gave way to the Outlook in Saturn’s range.
Engines and power
The Relay range included petrol V6 engines from 3.5 L to 3.9 L, with flex-fuel versions able to run on gasoline or E85.
How economical is the Saturn Relay?
The EPA’s combined rating reached 19 MPG, with the lowest listed consumption at 12.4 L/100 km. Canada’s lowest listed figure was 12.6 L/100 km on the NRCan 5-cycle test. The EPA and Canadian test procedures differ, so figures from the two markets are not direct comparisons.
