Fitting of an overlay wiring harness. The overlay wiring harness reconfigures the electrical distribution to the FPDM to utilize a relay to supply the fuel pump power feed. The relay is not affected by the in rush current drawn by the fuel pump and so ensures robust operation.
  49. Fuel outlet flange may crack and leak

Reported December 10, 2012Model years 2009–2010DVSA recall R/2012/131367 vehicles affected

A crack in the fuel outlet flange may cause a fuel smell or a pool of fuel under the rear of the vehicle. Fuel could ignite if exposed to an ignition source. The flange will be replaced.

    Component
    FUEL MAY LEAK
    Defect
Jaguar engineers identified a crack present in the fuel outlet flange on components returned from the market. If a crack is present customers are most likely to detect fuel odour when the vehicle is static from the outside of the vehicle. However in extreme circumstances there could be a pool of fuel underneath the rear of the vehicle which in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire.
    Remedy
    Replace the fuel outlet flange.

    Defect
JAGUAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 XK AND XF VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JUNE 27, 2009, THROUGH MARCH 10, 2010. THE POWER ASSIST STEERING (PAS) PIPES HAVE BEEN SUPPLIED WITH ZINC-NICKEL PLATING THAT DOES NOT MEET FULLY THE CORROSION PROTECTION REQUIREMENTS OF JAGUAR'S ENGINEERING SPECIFICATION.
